FORECASTING AND ECONOMICS
Jacobs Consultancy develops forecasts of enplaned passengers, aircraft operations
(landings and takeoffs), air cargo traffic, and other aviation-related activity
to support the analysis, planning, and financing of airport capital improvements,
noise compatibility programs, and business operations.
Using computer models, we relate airport activity to population and economic
trends for the airport's service region as well as to national and international
influences. Using extensive databases, we analyze key factors that may affect
the demand for airline traffic, such as competitive airline service, route networks,
and airfares. We evaluate the economic benefits of proposed airport improvements
in relation to their costs. We also conduct surveys of airline passengers, airport
tenants, and other stakeholders to support forecasting, economic, and planning
studies. |
